Discovering the Path of Lemons in Minori

The Path of Lemons tour takes you to discover one of the most iconic paths of the Amalfi Coast.
Despite the numerous steps connecting the paved stretches, this path is easy to follow, also for beginners and not experienced trekkers.
This ancient road in ancient times was used to connect Minori and Maiori, the two beautiful coastal cities. Once, it was one of the busiest mule tracks of the area because it connected the hinterland with the ports of departure of one of the goods very much in demand: the precious Limone Sfusato Amalfitano, a type of lemon produced only on the Amalfi Coast and renowned worldwide.

The arrival at the tour meeting point in Minori

Once reached the tour meeting point, at Travelmar ticket office in Minori, you will find an expert touristic guide, a native of the Amalfi Coast, waiting for you and ready to tell you everything about this little corner of paradise.

The Path of Lemons tour starts with the visit of Basilica di Santa Trofimena, dedicated to the patron saint of Minori. After visiting this church, in neoclassical style and built in the 18th century, you will reach Borgo di Torre (DDD) with its ancient church, built before 936 on the ruins of an altar dedicated to the god of the Sun, and now dedicated to San Michele Arcangelo.

On the Path of Lemons

From here, you will continue the tour towards the Path of Lemons, among steps, and ups and downs that wedge in rural buildings and wine and citrus pergolas.

Here, you will have the feeling that past and present merge into one. The views offered by the path will make you feel unique sensations, while the special connection with nature will win your heart.
Among this path it is common to meet some locals: a farmer with a “sporta”,  a bag of freshly picked lemons on his head, maybe accompanied by his “ciuccio”, a donkey, still used as a means of transport here in the Coast, both for people and goods.
There are many panoramic stops where you can take a picture or just have a refreshing break. The most famous one is Belvedere della Mortella, from which you can see all of Minori and also Ravello and Amalfi in the distance.

During this pleasant walk, you will encounter little kiosks where you can cool off with a delicious lemon granita, a lemonade, or a lemon salad.
You will walk for about 2 kilometers while enjoying not only the view but also the peculiarity of the many little paths, the scent of oleander, and the Mediterranean vegetation. On your way, you will meet many characteristic stone walls with votive shrines and drinking fountains, and hundreds of lemon terraces. You will then reach Maiori and the marvelous view of Collegiata di Santa Maria a Mare. Its amazing dome, covered in typical majolica tiles from Vietri sul Mare, announces the end of the Path of Lemons.
