Discovering the Path of Lemons in Minori

The Path of Lemons tour takes you to discover one of the most iconic paths of the Amalfi Coast.
Despite the numerous steps connecting the paved stretches, this path is easy to follow, also for beginners and not experienced trekkers.
This ancient road in ancient times was used to connect Minori and Maiori, the two beautiful coastal cities. Once, it was one of the busiest mule tracks of the area because it connected the hinterland with the ports of departure of one of the goods very much in demand: the precious Limone Sfusato Amalfitano, a type of lemon produced only on the Amalfi Coast and renowned worldwide.

Our suggestions for visiting The Lemon Path

Departure from the touristic ports of all the localities of the Amalfi Coast

The Path of Lemons will leave you speechless for the scent of Mediterranean scrub and the beautiful panoramas on the open coast. Not to mention the many terraces where this famous citrus fruit grows: massive lemon gardens, full of these fragrant and juicy fruits, every day used for excellent culinary preparations such as desserts, granita (slushie), ice cream, spirits, and the very tasty insalata amalfitana di limoni (Amalfi’s lemon salad).

This path can be reached from all the cities on the Amalfi Coast that offer transfer by sea. Specifically, from Positano, Amalfi, Minori, Maiori, Cetara, Vietri sul Mare, and Salerno thanks to Travelmar fast farries. It is available also from Minori for those who are already in the city.

From Maiori ti Minori: a walk in the beauty!

This path of Lemons can be traveled in both directions. If you start from Maiori, the departing point will be the Collegiata di Santa Maria a Mare with its wonderful majolica dome. According to the tradition, its name comes from the statue found on the beach around 1200.
Then, let yourself be enthralled by the typical village of Torre and its ancient Church of San Michele Arcangelo in Minori and by the breathtaking panorama from the Mortella belvedere ("mortella" is the dialectal name of myrtle, a very common plant in this area). From the belvedere you can see Ravello and, further in distance, Amalfi and Atrani.
Therefore, this itinerary ends in the municipality of Minori, where we suggest a stop at one of the most famous and renowned pastry shops of the Amalfi Coast: pasticceria Sal De Riso. Get inside and you will never regret it, you will have only a lot of choice. Salvatore de Riso, the pastry shop owner, has turned the products of his land, like the sfusato amalfitano, into the key ingredients of his pastry masterpieces. All of them are delicious but a special mention goes to the famous delizia al limone, a typical lemon cake.
You just need to set off and experience these places full of history characterized by unique landscapes. Moreover, the products of this land are excellent: it is no surprise we find them in the exquisite local gastronomy. Try to believe it!
